| description | The article analyzes the general principles of interaction between the state bodies of the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus as members of the Commonwealth of Independent States and the Eurasian Economic Union in the sphere of information exchange on currency control issues. It also examines the peculiarities of such interaction that have arisen due to the imposition of sanctions by unfriendly states against the Russian Federation. The relevance of the topic is expressed by the fact that, in light of the intensification of sanctions pressure through the adoption of the 14th package of sanctions, information exchange within the Union States can have a critical impact on countering Western sanctions. The novelty of the work lies in the fact that, due to the regular expansion of sanctions, this topic is not sufficiently developed in legal literature because the subject of research is constantly changing.
Background. The article is devoted to an extremely relevant topic in the context of the current political and economic reality: the interaction of customs authorities of the union states in the framework of countering Western sanctions.
Purpose. The author aims to set the vectors for the development of interaction between the state bodies of the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation to counter sanctions.
Method. The article employs classical methods of research for legal science. The main emphasis is on the analysis of legal literature, texts of international conventions, and normative legal acts.
Results. The results of the analysis involve forming vectors for the development of interstate cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Russian Federation in the context of countering sanctions and the application of Russian counter-sanctions.
The author identifies the following vectors: harmonization of legal regulation, information exchange and technology integration, and measures to ensure compliance with and enforcement of Russian counter-sanctions.
Application area. The results of the research can be applied in the field of currency control, as well as in the work of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation in drafting future interstate agreements and programs. |
