Summary:In modern world there are many problems that require solving various political, economic, social, and other issues at the international level. It is for this purpose that international meetings of countries are held in various formats such as the Group of Seven (G7), the Group of Ten (G10), the Group of Twenty (G20), etc. The prerequisite for the G20 creation was the Asian financial crisis of the second half of the 1990s, after which it was decided to hold the G20 forum with the participation of finance ministers and central bank governors of countries to discuss and make decisions on global economic and financial issues. The purpose of the study is to analyze the evolution and role of the G20 in modern context. The analysis of the evolution of organizational issues and major decisions at the G20 meetings has been carried out, decisions on the issues of disconnecting Russia from the SWIFT system, conducting a special military operation in Ukraine, on finance, employment, education, digital economy, agriculture, health, trade, and a number of other issues have been touched upon. The global role of decisions taken at the G20 meetings in the current conditions and in the future has been emphasized.
