description Based on the observation that the architectural profession has undergone profound changes in recent decades, this article studies the way in which higher education establishments in architecture, namely the École nationale supérieure d'architecture de Nantes (ENSA Nantes), are adapting in response. This is reflected in aspects such as the academic careers of students, along with the different ways in which they relate to training, shape their careers and imagine their professional futures. Instead of adopting the canonical practice of architecture, a growing number of architecture graduates are pursuing ‘atypical’ occupations, veering towards other architectural worlds or turning away from it altogether, as the profession fails to offer sufficient opportunities in line with their values. How might these reconverted and bifurcated actors allow to identify other ways of occupying space inside and outside the worlds of architecture?This article reports on long-term quantitative and qualitative research aimed at documenting the careers and futures of architecture students at ENSA Nantes. The work presented focuses on the professional integration of graduates, three to six years after graduation.
