description The FE model of the carbody was established with Hypermesh based on the structure characteristics of locomotive; the load case design was carried out according to the EN 12663-2010, UIC 566 and JIS E 7106 2006; and the static and fatigue strength analysis and modal analysis were completed via ABAQUS. The result showed that the strength of the carbody was able to meet the requirements of the standard; and the modal frequency and modal shape of the first 25 order were also provided for the optimization of the structure and diagnosis of the potential failure of the structure.
