Summary:Colorectal cancer is one of the most common malignancies, and its occurrence and development are related to the internal and external environment of the body. The dynamically balanced intestinal microbiota plays an important role in participating in the digestion and absorption of nutrients, maintaining metabolism, and regulating immune function. However, if the intestinal microbiota is imbalanced, it can cause various serious harm to the body. This article reviews the structure and function of the intestinal microbiota, the damage caused by microbial imbalance to the intestinal structure and function, and its relationship with the occurrence and development of colorectal cancer, aiming to provide references for the comprehensive prevention and treatment of colorectal cancer.
