Percutaneous Salvage of a Thrombosed Immature Arteriovenous Fistula using a Long Segment Stent Graft across the Juxta-Anastomotic and Outflow Vein

The role for stent grafting in the juxta-anastomotic segment for nonmaturing arteriovenous (AV) fistulas is not well understood. Description
Summary:The role for stent grafting in the juxta-anastomotic segment for nonmaturing arteriovenous (AV) fistulas is not well understood. We report a case in which a long segment stent-graft of nearly the entire venous limb of a brachiocephalic AV fistula was stented to salvage an access that would likely otherwise have been abandoned. The patient went on to mature his fistula 3 months later and access it for hemodialysis through percutaneous puncture of the stent graft.
