| Summary: | Abstract
The contemporary labour market in Poland is undergoing constant transformations, which result from demographic changes, mainly related to the process of population ageing. There are currently four generations in the structures of companies and institutions. These generations are more and more often operating in the same teams of employees, which may be a significant challenge for the managers of modern organisations.
Material and methods
In this paper the method of analysis of current literature was used.
Results
Currently, there are four generations on the labour market in Poland: Baby Boomers, X, Y and Z differ in terms of value system, motivation to work, expectations and loyalty to employers.
Conclusions
Skilful management of a diverse workforce will make it possible to use the older generations as mentors for young workers, but the so-called reverse mentoring cannot be omitted here, where the older generation will learn from younger employees, e.g. virtual competences, new technologies, etc. |
