Description
Summary:Farmers’ generation of renewable energy has been accompanied by a significant transformation in thire organisation of production and work. Based on three cases located in the West of France, the article starts by presenintg the ways that – and reasons why – farmers engage in in methanisation projects in conjunction with food processors, cooperatives, professional organisations and local authorities. It then describes the collective organisations that shape these projects, as well as the work organisations associated with them. Finally, it identifies farmers’ social attributes upon each of the social stages where they operate.
