Description
Summary:This study examines how neighborhood walkability influences older adults' walking behavior and visits to third places, and how these behaviors impact their physical health, mental well-being, and social connections. Results show that greater distance to third places is negatively associated with walking and visit frequency, while better overall walkability is positively linked to both. Frequent visits to third places are associated with improved physical and mental health. Walking to third places is also positively related to a stronger sense of belonging and the perception that community members look out for each other.
