| Summary: | [Abstract] The anal sphincter injury and posterior pelvic floor defect cause a series of problems, such as fecal incontinence, pelvic floor malformation, and pelvic floor hernia, which seriously affect the quality of life and impose profound psychological burdens on these patients. Posterior pelvic floor repair surgery represents a class of colorectal surgery to repair or reconstruct the anal sphincter and repair posterior pelvic floor defect, which aims to reconstruct the anal sphincter morpholog and function, restore the anatomical structure of the posterior pelvic floor to varying degrees, as well as to improve the pelvic floor function. This article reviews the current status of posterior pelvic floor repair in colorectal surgery and shares our experience with our peers. |
