| description | A cirurgia ambulatorial apresenta-se como uma tecnologia eficiente. Frente a isto, define-se como objetivo descrever e discutir as representações da cirurgia ambulatorial para os responsáveis por crianças. Trata-se de uma pesquisa qualitativa desenvolvida com o suporte da teoria das representações sociais. Os dados foram coletados no Rio de Janeiro, em 2011, através de entrevistas com 20 responsáveis por crianças submetidas a cirurgia e examinados através da análise de conteúdo. Os resultados apontaram cinco categorias, quais sejam: os sentidos e os significados da cirurgia ambulatorial para os familiares cuidadores; a enfermeira e o processo de atendimento e de realização da cirurgia; o pré e o transoperatório: ações, sentimentos, caminhos; o pós-operatório: sentimentos e atitudes; e o processo de atendimento em saúde: uma análise comparativa entre a cirurgia ambulatorial e a hospitalar. Conclui-se que os usuários possuem uma representação positiva acerca da cirurgia e da atuação do enfermeiro em seu contexto.
ABSTRACT: The out-patient surgery proves to be an efficient technology. Therefore, this study aims at describing and discussing representations of out-patient surgery to the children’s caretaking companions. It is a qualitative piece of research developed with the support of the social representations theory. Data was first collected in Rio de Janeiro, 2011, through interviews with 20 (twenty) caretaking companions to children having undergone surgery. Data was further analyzed on the basis of content analysis. Results showed five categories: senses and meanings of out-patient surgery to caretaking companions; nurse and assistance, and surgery processes; pre and trans surgical: actions, feelings, ways; pos surgical: feelings and attitudes; and health assistance process: a comparative analysis between out-patient and hospital surgeries. Conclusion shows users had a positive representation of both surgery and nurse action in that context.
RESUMEN: La cirugía ambulatorial se presenta como una tecnología eficiente. Frente a esto, definimos como objetivos describir y discutir las representaciones de la cirugía ambulatorial para los acompañantes de niños. Es una pesquisa cualitativa desarrollada con la teoría de las representaciones sociales. Los dados fueran colectados en Rio de Janeiro-RJ-Brasil, en 2011, a través de entrevistas con 20 responsables por niños sometidos a cirugía y examinados por el análisis de contenido. Los resultados apuntaron cinco categorias, cuales sean: los sentidos y los significados de la cirugía ambulatorial para los familiares cuidadores; la enfermera y el processo de assistência y de realización de la cirugía; el pre y transoperatorio: acciones, sentimientos, caminos; el postoperatorio: sentimientos y actitudes; y el proceso de atendimiento en salud: un análisis comparativo entre la cirugía ambulatorial y la hospitalaria. Como conclusione, fue visto que los usuarios tienen una representación positiva sobre la cirugía y la actuación de la enfermera en esto contexto.
