Description
Summary:In view of the safety problem of 160 km/h concentrated power EMU in push-pull operation, a software named SIMPACK was used to build the dynamic model of EMU. Simulation analysis of safety on EMU was conducted in different traction modes. The safety and stability of its straight line running and the running under crosswind were analyzed, then the safety and stability of push-pull operation and traction operation were analyzed. The results show that, for the special conditions of push-pull operation, there is almost no difference of safety indexes with traction operation, and a certain increase of stability indexes, which still meet the operational requirements. A maximum allowable run speed is 156.7 km/h at a crosswind speed of 30 m/s, which is 20% lower than the maximum allowable speed of traction operation. The ability to resist crosswind in push-pull condition is significantly reduced.
