| Summary: | Background:
Stress urinary incontinence (SUI) impacts hospitalized patients’ quality of life, causing physical and psychological distress. This study evaluates the effectiveness of a structured exercise regimen in reducing SUI symptoms.
Objectives:
To assess the impact of a structured exercise program on SUI severity in hospitalized patients.
Methods:
A quasi-experimental study was conducted with 60 patients randomly assigned to a study group (n=30) receiving a six-week pelvic floor exercise program or a control group (n=30) receiving standard care. SUI severity was measured using the Incontinence Severity Index (ISI) pre- and post-intervention.
Results:
The study group showed a significant reduction in SUI severity compared to the control group, reflected in lower ISI scores post-intervention.
Conclusion:
A structured exercise regimen effectively reduced SUI severity in hospitalized patients, supporting its role as a non-invasive management approach. |
