| description | The purpose of the present work is to make a Land Use and a Vegetation Cover map of Uberlândia in 2002, and to analyze transformations in land use within city between 1988 and 2002. The Land Use map was produced using Landsat 7 satellite ETM+ images gotten in October 12, 2002. The maps were produced using softwares like AutoCAD Map and Spring 4.1. The results showed that the area used for agriculture increased, from 15.7% to 25.6%. This increase is due to the increment of soy and corn crops on the cultivated area. On the other hand, ind contribuited to the decrease of pasture, from 54.8% to 45.7% of the area, as well as of reflorestation, coming to 8.7% of the area compared to former 5.6% |
