Description
Summary:This article mentions the thesis that Imâmat occurs by election and invitation in Zaidiyya State in the period of al-Hâdî ilâ al-Haqq and this is a basis in that period. It is stressed in the article that al-Hadi ilâ al-Haqq, the caliph between 284298/897-911, comes to power by election and he is appointed as Imam in order to accomplish the duty of ordering the right and refraining people from the wrong as well as ruling with ‘ the Book.’ In this respect, it is questioned the validity of either to call for allegiance to him as well as election, or the Imamet of the despot. Also, in addition to the opinions in the classical period, the idea of al-Shawkani who approves the Imamet of the despot and tells that it is not permissible to uprise against cruel rulers as long as they pray and unless they express the blasphemy.
