Description
Summary:Pemulen®TR-2 is a polyacrylic acid that needs to be neutralised with an alkali in an aqueous environment, allowing the fabrication of cleaning gels. However, these gels raise several questions and many studies do not recommend the base generally used, the triethanolamine. On one hand, the diverse properties and actions of these gels will be discussed. On the other hand, a selection of bases will be studied in a theoretical and experimental point of view, in order to improve the gel formulations and to reduce possible risks.
