Description
Summary:The aim was to comprehend the humanization of child care in primary cases with a professional approach. Qualitative study conducted in a Family Health Unit in Natal, RN, Brazil. Sixteen professionals answered to the form containing questions related to child care, humanization and the practices performed to humanize care. Data were categorized by themes and analyzed based on the principles of the National Policy of Humanization. For the professionals, humanizing the care involves receiving, listening, advising on what is being done with the child, valuing the family, and providing active subject in attendance, even incipiently. Most professionals described care that values the principles of humanization policy, even with the difficulties to implement them into the routine. Therefore it requires motivation and updating of the professionals in order to have self-criticism regarding attendance.
