Description
Summary:Respecting the principle of equal opportunities and treatment between women and men is essential for the rule of law. This principle must be integrated into all aspects of social and economic life, and combating gender discrimination must be a priority for governments and public or private organizations. Gender equality is a core value of the European Union, a fundamental right, and a key principle of the European Pillar of Social Rights. Romania has developed and approved a series of legal measures to create the necessary framework for respecting this principle, but the implementation and enforcement of legislation in this area remain a challenge for both public authorities and private organizations.
