Summary:The construction of the Hôtel-Dieu at Carpentras is particularly well documented in the archives. It was founded by the bishop Malachie d’Inguimbert, designed by the architect Antoine d’Alleman, executed under the direction of Jean-Baptiste Lambertin and completed by Jean-Pierre Teissier between 1750 and 1769. The present article presents the work carried out on this major monument of eighteenth-century hospital architecture in France. It is the product of a historical research project carried out by the GRAHAL agency.
