description The issue of soil degradation has been of main concern for a few decades. The sealing of areas, earthworks or backfilling, the diffusion of contaminating substances in the soil, topsoil harvesting or the transformation of forests, of natural or agricultural environments for other purposes (housing, activities, transport, leisure) result in soil significant and ongoing deterioration. The efforts of the State to pass targeted policies to protect soil condition are still largely insufficient as highlighted by this study which focuses more specifically on the public policies conducted in Switzerland.
