| Summary: | Use of alcoholic beverage is very common in many countries. Excessive use of alcohol by people leads to a number of social and mental health problems. Many alcoholics having lack of boldness, self-confidence, interest or stand up for rights and vital characteristics of assertiveness life. Thus the present study attempted to examine the assertiveness level of alcoholics. The objective of the study was assessing the effectiveness of structured teaching program on knowledge of assertiveness among alcoholic dependents. Pre experimental one group pre-test and post-test design was adopted. A convenient sampling technique adopted to select the 60 subjects. Assertiveness scale was used to collect the pre and post-test data from the subjects. The structured teaching program regarding assertiveness was given by dividing subjects into 6 groups. The statistical analysis revealed, significant (p<0.001) improvement of assertiveness among alcoholic dependents in post-test. The findings concluded that the structured teaching program is effective in increasing the knowledge of assertiveness. |
