Description
Summary:In the present context of amplifying the concerns for ensuring the quality of education in Romania and the coagulation of components of a new culture in the quality of education providers, the paper examines the ways in which the University of Petroşani has developed the organizational framework and the tools necessary to ensure and improve quality, in accordance with the provisions of the national legislation and with the standards and performance indicators used by The Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education in the external evaluation of quality. The diagnostic analysis undertaken in this study focuses on the investigation of elements which guarantee the quality of the education process, starting from the premise that quality assurance, together with the availability of human resources, adequate logistics and materials form a social network which must not be disregarded when carrying out duties and fulfilling the objectives of an institution of higher education. The diagnosis attempted in the paper is completed, naturally, with a SWOT analysis of the current status of quality assurance within the University and with a package of measures that should be taken to enhance the strong points and to mitigate the weaknesses highlighted in the analysis.
