Description
Summary:The main aim of this study is to determine land suitability class and mapping using linear combination technique that is a parametric model. This study was carried out in Dedeli and Çetinkaya village and their near vicinity located at Bafra district of Samsun province covers about 1762.4 ha. Land mapping units and some soil parameters required for models were taken from detailed soil map prepared before. In addition, land suitability map was produced using GIS programme for the study area. The results of land suitability for agricultural use showed that while 58.8% of the study area soils were classified as best and good, about 31.3% were classified as moderately good lands. Only 9.9% of the study area located on Kz4.Ad1a, Hz1.Ed2a andTt1.Dd2i land mapping units was not suitable for agricultural uses. Finally, it was determined closely relation as compared results of linear combination technique with land quality index model.
