Description
Summary:While the orientation of girls and boys towars maths and literature remains stereotyped, most studies have been more concerned with the case of girls in maths by proposing sex role models to reduce disparities in mathematics, gender in this area obscuring the situation of boys in language. The present study attempts to transpose the theoretical considerations envisaged on the side of girls in maths to the case of boys in French literature. Data collection by questionnaire was conducted among hundred and ten (110) Cameroonian boys students enrolled in the Bachelor's degree in Modern French Literature (LMF) at the University of Yaounde I. The results support our hypotheses. Indeed, men are present in the curriculum of boys in literature, but this does not really motivate them to choose this domain.
