Summary:The memories of the past, called nostalgia in terms of literature, can be the primary motivation for human life. A lot has been written about it in the literature; nostalgia also has profound effects on Urdu literature. Those who directly experienced the division of the subcontinent have made it the subject of their writings. There are many effects of nostalgia in the novel “Aagy Samandar Hai” How the partition destroyed the houses and then how the people tried to rebuild them, what mental agonies they went through, how many psychological and physical difficulties they faced in leaving the land of their ancestors, and What is the tragedy of memory. All of this has been tried to be considered in this article.
