Summary:The purpose of this study was to identify the characteristics of the Brazilian scientific production and creativity in Education, from the analysis of theses and dissertations conducted between the years 1990-2010 in the database of the Coordination of Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (Capes), The Ministry of Education of Brazil. The results demonstrated the existence of 86 searches, and 65, masters and doctoral 21. There is concentration of business in Education (55,81%), and Psychology (15,12%). The topic was studied more creativity in Education (31.40%) followed by the Creativity and teachers (25.58%). Clearly, if there is a great interest in creativity among Brazilian researchers, especially in the educational area, in the context of formal Education. However, there are gaps in the level of studies in high school and higher education.
