Summary:In order to study the resonance characteristics of locomotive-grid system by simulation, an accurate harmonic model is needed. The method for building harmonic models of pivotal parts of traction power supply system was studied, and then, based on the attendant network method, a method for building a universal harmonic model of converter for locomotive was presented, which could change transient switch model to steady current source connected with resistance branch model, so that the simulation speed could be improved. Based on the harmonic model of locomotives-grid system, resonance characteristics of the system were studied by simulation, some basic conclusions were summarized, and an efficient method to accurately simulate resonance characteristics of locomotive-grid system was proposed. Simulation results show that the universal harmonic model of converter for locomotive can improve the simulation speed to three times faster than that of the traditional one.
