Summary:Based on theories of fluid mechanics, with specific reference to equations such as the continuous equation of steadily flowing fluid, a special multifunction nozzle applicable to different hydraulic sources of water was developed. We established a relationship between the length of moving nozzle stem and the throttling area of the nozzle. The optimum spout diameter and length of the nozzle from the test of the nozzle are selected on the basis of orthogonal test. The spurt distance of the nozzle is 8.3 m in hydraulic pressure (0.15 MPa) of running water circumstances; and the spurt distance of the nozzle is 10m in hydraulic pressure (7.84 MPa) of high-pressure cleaning machine circumstances. A new method for designing multifunction nozzle was put forward.
