Summary:The studied area is a sector of the Romanian Danube Valley where land use is predominantly agricultural. The area consists of two distinctrelief units: the alluvial plain and the terraces. The aim of this paper is to show – based on Land Parcels Identification System and CORINE Land Cover data, as well as field investigations – the way land use reflects the particularities of each relief unit analysed.
