| description | This article aims to enrich the studies on the revival of populism in Latin America in general, and in Argentina in particular since the year 2000. This work considers the Kirchnerism as a political project with a populist attempt that struggles in a tension between two spirits : revolution and restoration. Thus, the article describes the way Nestor Kirchner and Cristina Fernandez rewrite the Argentine history in order to develop a narrative that brings back to life the recent past of the country. Through the use of symbols, the Kirchnerism places the “bicentennial generation” at the very heart of the political debate with the purpose of reinforcing the legitimacy of its political project, as well as consolidating its power. In doing so, the Kirchnerist administrations combine tailored partisan actions and the delivery of public policies with the objective of influencing the minds of the young Argentine generations. |
