Der Beitrag zeigt mögliche Verbindungen zur Neapolitanischen Schule, stellt die in der Generalbasslehre vermittelten Satzmodelle Ausschnitten aus Fux’ musikalischen Werken exemplarisch gegenüber und untersucht die Verbindungen zu den mit der Quelle eng verknüpften Traktaten Johann Baptist Sambers und Matthäus Gugls. Eine vollständige kritische Edition der Quelle ist im Anhang beigefügt.
A newly discovered source, containing a thorough bass method ascribed to Johann Joseph Fux, sheds new light on the role of thorough bass in Fux’ teaching and composing activities. It allows for a differentiated view of the relationship between the Gradus ad Parnassum and compositional practice in Fux’ time. The article demonstrates possible connections with the Neapolitan school, compares the schemata in the thorough bass method with excerpts from Fux’ musical works and explores connections to treatises by Johann Baptist Samber and Matthäus Gugl, which are closely related to this source. A complete critical edition of the source is included. |
