Description
Summary:The transatlantic slave trade deported millions of captives across multiple and interregional trade routes. Central Africa has been the point of departure for captives from several sub-regions in the centre and east of the continent. The figures available for this study suggest that the coasts of the kingdoms of Loango, Kongo and the colony of Angola were among the most active in transatlantic slave trade. The feeling of these different regions is still visible from North America to Chile in southern Latin America. It is now evident that the Bantu heritage in general and Bakongo in particular has marked, depending on the place, the ways of feeling, thinking, dreaming, and acting in the Americas.
