Description
Summary:The issue of theoretical heritage questions the relationship of theoreticians to their sources. In the career of Bernard Huet, theoretician of urban architecture in French style, this relationship is built from the moment of his training and develop throughout his career. The issue will thus be approached from the perspective of education and its ability to produce this heritage through the process of assimilation. The analysis of Bernard Huet’s confrontation with the Fine Arts system and the teaching of Louis I. Kahn will attempt to identify the modalities of assimilation and subsequent theoretical elaboration. Several factors determine this assimilation : the context of reception and the trajectory of the architect, but also the internal characteristics of these teachings and the modalities of assimilation. These correspond to various psychological mechanisms, developed over time : the selection of knowledge, its displacement, its transformation, or even its condensation, when several sources converge towards the same theoretical position.
