| Summary: | Bulgartia is a country that has a multitude of touristic resources – picturesque coastline, high snowy mountains, hundreds of mineral springs, multiple cultural monuments, unique folklore, modern accommodation facilities and others. All of these suggest a flourishing development of Bulgarian tourism. Unfortunately, during the last 10 years the results do not estimate over the humble 3-3.5 billion EUR. An attempt to discover the reason for these mediocre results and to formulate the basic problems – mismatch between demand and supply, overbuilding, lack of labor force, worsened service level and others is made and some measures have been suggested for overcoming the mentioned weaknesses. |
