| Summary: | Asian and Southeast Asian countries have recorded deep socioeconomic transformations since World War 2. These main transformations are: introduction of capitalist regimes; high growth rates, urbanisation and demographic weight. These transformation are meaningfull for the economic theory, and Régulation Theory. First, it confirms the “diversity of capitalisms” hypothesis. Second, it highlights the fact that pluridisciplinarity is more than ever required in order to grasp the more recent trends: geography, as Régulation theory did for long with history, could be fruitfully frequented to understand better transnational features beyond the scope of traditionnal macroeconomics. |
