Summary:Abstract The aim of the study is to present the sources of financing for social enterprises on the example of social cooperatives. Material and methods The study analyzes existing data, i.e. publications related primarily to the financing of social cooperatives. Data from an interview conducted on the basis of a questionnaire with representatives of social cooperatives in the Lubelskie Voivodeship were also used to indicate the sources of financing used in practice. Results The basic source of financing for a social enterprise, which is a social cooperative, should be business activity consisting mainly in the sale of services and products. Social cooperatives, as part of state aid, may obtain aid for setting up a cooperative or joining it after its establishment and for creating a job or financing wage costs. Conclusions In recent years, social cooperatives in Poland can develop largely thanks to support from public funds, mainly European.
