Summary:<p><strong>Foundation:</strong> the psychological content study describe and explain the causes of behavior, make predictions about the subject's behavior, and provoke attitudinal changes, based on the relationship between meaning and the personal meaning that knowledge acquires.<br /><strong>Objective:</strong> to characterize the level of psychological content development in the General Practitioner’s professional training to achieve developmental learning.<br /><strong>Methods:</strong> a descriptive study was carried out in the Holguín province during the year 2023, to characterize the level of General Practitioner psychological contents development. The following indicators were measured: mastery of the contents of the Medicine degree, use of cognitive operations in work tasks, display of feelings and interests towards the medical profession, stability of traits or personal qualities inherent to professional performance, definition of the professional life project, structuring of motivations and professional values, autonomy and self-assessment in the frameworks of medical practice.<br /><strong>Results:</strong> the main difficulties were in the use of cognitive operations in work tasks, in the personal traits’ stability or qualities inherent to professional performance, in the definition of the professional life project, in autonomy and self-assessment in the frameworks of the medical profession.<br /><strong>Conclusions:</strong> the development of psychological content in the training of the General Practitioner is at a partial level according to the degree of maturity reached in the students, which affects developmental learning.</p>
