| description | Landscape design practices are constantly evolving. Rural subjects, and more specifically agricultural issues, seem to have recently gained ground in landscape thinking and are increasingly interesting young professionals and local players. Recent policies, such as the National Food Plan in 2019, the regular drives towards decentralisation, the health crisis in 2020-2021, the energy crisis and climate change seem to have accelerated this process. Based on the entire body of final-year course projects at the École de la Nature et du Paysage in Blois, carried out during the students’ fifth and final year, the study analyses the evolution and proportion of subjects dealing with agriculture and the way in which agricultural issues are integrated into the longest training exercise for landscape designers. The career paths of former students are studied in order to document the transition from school-based thinking to professional practice. |
