description The circulation of Indian IT professionals is a key element of the development of the Indian IT sector. Since the beginning of the decade, return migration to India has become part of the Indian IT scenario. This article offers a situated and qualitative perspective on returns to Bangalore, from a professional and sectorial perspective. Based on the results of a qualitative research in Bangalore (2004-2006), it shows the importance of return migration for the IT sector; meanwhile it reassesses the relevance and the forms of the so-called “soft circulation of skills”.
