Summary:The present study seeks to collect the scientific theses supervised byProf. Shaaban Abdel Aziz Khalifa in order to identify the numerical and qualitativefeatures of them, and identify the features of the networks of scientific supervisionof the professor. A bibliographic and bibliometric approach was used. The studyused the Egyptian Universities Libraries Catalog in order to collect theses, thedata collected during the period from 15/8/2019 to 20/8/2019.The results of the study showed that there are 269 theses supervised bythe professor. The percentage of female was 59% while the percentage of malewas 41%. The theses supervised by the professor were approved from 12Egyptian universities, Cairo University came first with 25% followed by TantaUniversity, Menoufia and Banha with 15%, 14% and 10% respectively.The first academic theses approved for the professor was in 1986 fromCairo University, the period of time 2013 - 2015 witnessed the largest number oftheses supervised by the professor, which amounted to 21%. The number ofresearchers supervised by the professor reached 215 researchers, 52% of themreceived the master's degree only, while 25% obtained the master's and doctoraldegrees, while the percentage of researchers who obtained the doctoral degreeonly under the supervision of the professor 23%. The percentage of researcherscoming from the Arab world was 12% of the total number of researcherssupervised by the professor.This percentage belongs to eight Arab countries, led by Syria and Libya.Bilateral supervision is the dominant pattern of 73%, while the individualsupervision pattern constituted only 27%. The scientific supervision network ofthe professor consisted of 36 co-supervisors, led by Prof. Tharwat Youssef ElGhalban, Tanta University, followed by Prof. Hasnaa Mahmoud Mahgoub,Menoufia University. Information sources came in the top of the libraries andinformation science axes by 35%, information institutions came in the secondplace with 22%, followed by information technology by 20%, followed byinformation operations and information services by 12% and 11% respectively
