Summary: | Background: Feeding toddlers is one of the factors determining nutritional status Failure in feeding practices causes feeding difficulties in toddlers. One of the factors causing the success of feeding is parenting patterns and socio-economic. Parenting patterns refer to the implementation of feeding rules and are linked to socio-economic status, which consists of knowledge, income, and education. As of 2023, Riau is one of the top three provinces with the lowest stunting prevalence in Indonesia. Objective: This study aims to identify the relationship between parenting patterns and socio-economic status with feeding difficulties in toddlers. Methods: This quantitative research employs a cross-sectional design and utilizes analytical survey methods. The sample was selected using a random sampling technique, comprising a total of 30 toddlers. Respondents included mothers who had children aged 12-59 months in the working area of Sidomulyo Primary Healthcare Center. Result: There was a significant relationship between parenting patterns (p=0.003) and knowledge (p=0.001) with feeding difficulties in toddlers. The results indicate that parenting patterns and knowledge about feeding rules are closely related to the feeding difficulties in children. |
