This paper presents the example of an unprecedented operation in Europe: the removal of two hydroelectric dams which measures 36 and 16 meters high. The aim is to analyse at the scale of Selune valley and since the early 20th century the interactions between public policies, local practices and nature and landscape representations. With the analysis of the stakeholders’s role, we can apprehend the way ecological issues and territory projects are conciliated but also the way local initiatives can join national directives. |
