Summary:With a professionalizing and transformative aim, training in the intersectional approach social relations to gender/social class/“race” in Physical Education and Sports was offered to first-level trainee teachers (N= 65). This training aimed to develop professional teaching skills combining didactic relevance and consideration of social relationships. In this article, we will describe the work proposed to question the trainees’ representations of social relations in the school and in their practices, then we will analyze the training times in terms of power relations. The results show that training promoting an intersectional approach to social relations, while opening access to new knowledge and professional skills, generates the expression of power relations between the trainees present even when it was the subject of the discussions.
