| description | Since the islamic revolution of 1979, Iranian society has been facing chronic spoliation of a part of depositors within the informal finance. This dynamic of expropriation is accompanied by the waves of social protests, wich have been amplified and extended since 2000s. To examine the roots of this development, this article is based on two main premises. First, inspired by Michel Foucault’s approach, this study will develop the following proposal: illegalism is the appropriate concept to apprehend and characterize the dominant groups’captive behaviors within Iranian monetary and financial order. Second, if illegalism explains these captive behaviors, it must itself be explained. To support this proposal, this study will try to put the illegalism into perspective with monetary and financial “dispositifs”, power relations, conflicts of interest and institutional structures (especially state institutions and rights), which create and shape it. |
