| description | An oral mucosal irritation fibroma is an exophytic mass of soft tissue in the oral mucosa. It is most frequently in adult patients. The aim of this article is to describe the clinical evolution of a patient diagnosed with oral mucosal irritation fibroma. The case of a 40-years-old patient who came to the clinic for an increase in volume in the anterior right part of the tongue si presented. Intraoral examination revealed a geographic tongue and a pink, circumscribed, lobulated swelling with a smooth, sensitive surface and firm consistency. The patient was treated by excisional biopsy or excision using the surgical enucleation technique and sent to pathology for study. Fibroma of the oral mucosa usually has a favorable evolution. The case is presented due to the importance of an early and safe diagnosis for oral disorders such as fibroma due to trauma because its treatment can immediately improve the patient's quality of life. |
