Summary:This study aims to develop a reliable andvalid measurement instrument of emotional intelligence based on mixed model.Mixed model of emotional intelligence and literature on it were investigated,and then an item pool with 53 items was developed. 14 expert of emotionalintelligence examined 53 items. In order to make the expert’s judgmentsstandardized, Lawshe Content Validity Ratio was used. As a result of the ratioanalysis, 18 items were discarded from initial draft of the scale. Data werecollected from 492 children for the exploratory factor analysis (EFA). EFAresults indicated the scale includes unidimensionality. Confirmatory FactorAnalysis (CFA) yielded good model fit indices. Results indicated that the scaleis reliable and valid instrument in measuring emotional intelligence.
