Description
Summary:Smart water meters appears a very interesting advance, particularly in terms of fighting water losses and lower bills. However, the adoption rate for this service is extremely low (1 to 2%). A survey was conducted among 200 households living near Montpellier and equipped with this feature. The results show that they are poorly informed about the availability of this service even if they are well-intentioned (their attitude is positive, the skills to use this technology seem accessible and, unlike other similar services, they do not express fears about the supposed risks involved). However, they do not use this facility because of technical obstacles, and also because of a sometimes very low motivation compared to the expected benefits.
