| Summary: | Gardens and garden alleys are meaningful concepts in the history of Iranian civilization and show the pattern of Iranians' interaction with nature. The traditions of using water and trees and combining them with the cultures of different regions of Iran have led to the emergence of diverse and valuable garden alleys. But these valuable works have been captured over time by constructions, businesses and one-dimensional attitudes in the expansion of villas, towers, industries and roads, and as a result, the destruction of gardens and garden alleys. This study aims to explain the importance of garden alleys as a natural cultural heritage of Iran and their protection strategies and the relevant question is what are the dimensions, values and examples of garden alleys in the cultural and natural heritage of Iran? Which is done by historical and analytical research method, qualitative approach and methods of document, library and case study. The values of the garden alley are recognizable in cultural, natural, spatial and physical dimensions, literary, spiritual and psychological and landscape, and these spaces as the Iranian cultural and natural heritage of the land represent identity, antiquity, originality and spatial belonging and poetic feelings and traditions of nature. Their protection and revival, in addition to literary, spiritual and landscape values, will play an important role in protecting the contemporary environment of cities and villages. |
