Description
Summary:In order to contribute to the ongoing debates within the field of environmental issues, we study how the actors interpret the evolution of public action concerning biodiversity management. Regarding the abundantly debated neoliberalization of Nature we demonstrate that the fears associated with a potential commodification and with the tendencies to favor market-oriented strategies are actually serious for the French Conservatoires d’Espaces Naturels. Analyzing how they mobilize the concept of land stewardship, we try to understand how the CEN manage these changes and experiment some alternative paths for a comprehensive sustainable local development.
