Description
Summary:Since the holding of the Estates General on Education, Research and Training (2010), the Gabonese state has undertaken numerous reforms in its education system in order to ensure the best teaching and learning conditions. Contrary to political expectations, the results obtained remain very insufficient inasmuch as school failure and violence have unfortunately become recurring problems for the Gabonese school. Faced with this reality, and in an attempt to provide explanations, for about a dozen years, students at the end of their cycle at the École Normale Supérieure (ENS) have been producing professional dissertations on the problem of violence in schools in Gabon. So what do they say about the forms, manifestations and consequences of violence on the learners and teachers who are victims of it? What lessons can be learned from this? Finally, how can this work be used on a practical level by decision-makers both to understand and provide solutions to the growing insecurity in the Gabonese education system? To better answer these questions, without being exhaustive, we carried out a content analysis of nine (9) theses identified particularly at the ENS.
